Hall Pass Administrator Setup

Initial Configuration

Access Hall Pass management through your Dashboard under Features > Hall Pass. Here you can:

Current Hall Passes Tab: View all Hall Passes currently active throughout the site in real-time.

Hall Pass Reasons Tab: Add or remove default Hall Pass types based on your site's needs (e.g., Restroom, Nurse, Office, Library).

Settings Tab: Configure the following options:

  • Security PINs: Decide if PINs are required for issuing passes (Need PIN for issue) and for checking passes in (Need PIN for check in)

  • Expiration notifications: Choose who is notified by email when a Hall Pass expires:

    • Notify students on expiration — emails the student whose pass expired

    • Notify issuing teacher on expiration — emails the teacher who issued the pass

    • Notify these people on expiration — select specific people who should be emailed when any Hall Pass expires. The picker is limited to admin, teacher, and staff identities. Use this when a school administrator (rather than the issuing teacher) needs to monitor expired passes

  • Minimum time between passes: Optionally require a minimum number of minutes between a student’s Hall Passes (Require minimum time between hall passes)

  • Pass Limits: Set the default number of Hall Passes (default: 10, maximum: 99)

Hall Pass expiration emails include the pass’s start time and duration, so recipients can review what expired without opening the dashboard.

Security PIN Setup

If you require security PINs for Hall Pass issuance:

Administrator-Set PINs:

  • Administrators can set unique PINs for each teacher

  • Or set one PIN for the entire site

  • Teachers can later change their PIN in their Profile

Teacher-Set PINs:

  • Teachers set their own unique PIN in Profile > Personal Data > Security PIN

  • Click "Save Changes" to confirm

    Security pings can be set in the dashboard or directly on the app.
