Overview
The Hall Pass Feature allows administrators and teachers to issue digital hall passes to students directly within the app, from a class device, or remotely from the Dashboard. This feature streamlines the process of tracking student movement throughout the school while maintaining security and accountability.
Key Requirements:
Students must have People records with a Student Identity
Student ID field must be populated
Students must be logged into a device to request passes from their own devices
Students without connected devices can receive passes issued from the Dashboard
Best Practices
Regularly review and update Hall Pass reasons to match school needs
Set appropriate time limits for different types of passes
Monitor Current Hall Passes to track student movement patterns
Use email notifications for expired passes to maintain accountability
Adjust pass limits based on school policies and student needs
Train staff on both Dashboard and App methods for flexibility
Review Student Exclusion Lists regularly to ensure they remain current and necessary
Document exclusion reasons in the notes field for future reference and staff awareness
Train staff on exclusion protocols so they understand when to override warnings appropriately
