Overview

The Hall Pass Feature allows administrators and teachers to issue digital hall passes to students directly within the app, from a class device, or remotely from the Dashboard. This feature streamlines the process of tracking student movement throughout the school while maintaining security and accountability.

Key Requirements:

  • Students must have People records with a Student Identity

  • Student ID field must be populated

  • Students must be logged into a device to request passes from their own devices

  • Students without connected devices can receive passes issued from the Dashboard

Best Practices

  • Regularly review and update Hall Pass reasons to match school needs

  • Set appropriate time limits for different types of passes

  • Monitor Current Hall Passes to track student movement patterns

  • Use email notifications for expired passes to maintain accountability

  • Adjust pass limits based on school policies and student needs

  • Train staff on both Dashboard and App methods for flexibility

  • Review Student Exclusion Lists regularly to ensure they remain current and necessary

  • Document exclusion reasons in the notes field for future reference and staff awareness

  • Train staff on exclusion protocols so they understand when to override warnings appropriately
