Adding and Uploading Documents in the Edlio App

Step-by-step instructions for uploading documents, selecting folders, setting visibility, and configuring secured access in the Edlio App.

Administrators can add downloadable PDF files, permission slips, handbooks, or direct resource links to the Edlio Mobile App in just a few steps.

💡 Recommended Formats: PDF files are strongly recommended for school documents because they render consistently across all iOS and Android screen sizes without requiring third-party office viewers.

⚠️ Important Note on Renaming Documents & Broken Links:

While document names serve primarily for internal organization in the dashboard, changing a document's name will change the direct URL of that document. If you have already shared the document link in emails, on your website, or across your app navigation, renaming the document will break those existing links. If you only need to update the file's contents without breaking existing links, replace the file attachment rather than renaming the document record.

How to Add a Document

  1. Navigate to Features > Documents in your Edlio App admin dashboard.

  2. Click the + New button in the upper-right corner of the dashboard to open the Create Document view.

  3. Fill out the document fields:

    • Title *: Enter a descriptive name for the document (e.g., 2026-2027 Student & Family Handbook).

    • URL / File Upload *: Choose Upload File to browse and attach your document, or select URL to link to an external web page.

    • Folder: Select a destination folder from the dropdown, or leave as No Folder to display the document on the root screen.

    • Visible: Keep toggled On to display the document in the mobile app. Toggle Off if you want to save as a draft.

  4. Secured Access: If this document should only be seen by logged-in users or specific roles (e.g., Teachers or Administrators), toggle on the desired audience in the right-hand panel.

  5. Click Save to publish the document.
