Create a Conversation Using a Classroom Group

Moving from legacy Broadcasts Contact Lists, Broadcasts, or App Target Lists? Groups is our unified audience engine. Unlike separate lists managed across disconnected tools, Groups powers App Push, SMS, Email, Voice, and Conversations from a single place with automated SIS dynamic rules. Existing Target Lists have automatically transitioned to Groups under People > Groups.

Create Conversation Using Classrooms Group

Classroom-synced groups make it easy to start a conversation with everyone connected to a classroom — and the participant list stays current as the classroom roster changes.

ℹ️ Classroom groups automatically connect to your active SIS classroom rosters.

Before you start

  • The classroom must be set up and connected to a group. Classrooms created or edited in Home > Features > Classrooms show their Connected Groups on the Create/Edit screens.

  • Classroom-synced groups carry a Classroom badge in People > Groups.

Create the conversation

  1. Log in to your admin panel at edlioapp.com.

  2. Open the Conversations/Messaging feature.

  3. Start a new conversation.

  4. When choosing participants, select the classroom group for the classroom you want to reach.

  5. Name the conversation, set any options, and create it.

How membership stays in sync

Classroom group membership is managed by the classroom sync — you can't manually add or remove synced members. What you can change on the group:

  • Relationship setting — control whether parents/children of classroom members are included.

  • Additional Contacts — add people outside the classroom roster (e.g., a co-coach).

Use the Sync action on the group to pull the latest roster immediately.
