ℹ️ Enabling Self-Registration: Self-registration is an optional feature for the Edlio Mobile App. To enable and configure self-registration for your school or district, open a support ticket with the Technical Support team.
When self-registration is enabled in the Edlio Mobile App, parents, students, or community members can create an initial account profile from their mobile device. To ensure student privacy and verify legitimate family associations, schools can require administrator verification before self-registered accounts are granted full app access.
🔒 Verification Security Best Practice
Unverified self-registered accounts remain in a pending state and cannot view secured student grades, class discussions, or private notifications until an administrator approves their identity and family relationship.
Reviewing pending accounts in Manage People
Administrators review and verify new self-registrations directly from People > Manage People:
Approving an individual user
Navigate to People > Manage People.
Set the App Status filter dropdown to Needs Verification (or search for the user by name/email).
Click the three dots (...) on the far right of the user's row.
Select View Family Page or Edit to inspect the requested student associations, contact email, and phone number against your official SIS records.
Once confirmed, click Verify / Approve to activate the account. The user will receive an automated confirmation email notifying them their access is live.
Approving users in bulk
During back-to-school registration periods or after community events, administrators can verify large queues of pending accounts simultaneously:
In Manage People, filter by App Status > Needs Verification to display all pending community accounts.
Check the Select All checkbox in the top-left table header (or check specific individual row checkboxes).
Click the bulk action button at the top of the table and select Verify Selected Accounts.
Confirm the action in the confirmation prompt. The system processes the approvals in the background and sends activation emails to all approved members.
