The Apps feature in your Edlio Mobile App provides a centralized launcher to integrate and organize digital learning tools, student information portals, and external community resources directly within the mobile app.
đĄ Best-Practice Adoption Tips for School Apps
Curate your app launcher intentionally to prevent screen clutter and mobile fatigue for families:
Group by Audience or Purpose: Use folders such as Elementary Learning Tools, Parent Portals, or Athletic Trackers to keep related applications organized.
Highlight High-Frequency Daily Tools: Pin essential tools like Google Classroom, ClassDojo, or your cafeteria payment portal near the top of the list.
Select Browser Behavior Carefully: For modern mobile-responsive web tools, keeping the default in-app browser offers a seamless experience. For complex portals requiring third-party authentication or native app handoff, enable Open in External Browser.
Accessing Apps Management
From the main navigation drawer or dashboard, navigate to Features.
Select Apps from the feature catalog to open the management table.
Adding a New App
From the Apps dashboard, click the blue + New button in the upper right.
Enter the required details:
App Title: The clear display name visible to mobile users.
URL: The complete destination web address, including
https://.
Configure optional settings:
Description: Brief contextual summary explaining what the tool is used for.
Icon: A high-resolution square logo (512Ă512 px recommended) for clean visual recognition on mobile screens.
Open in External Browser: Toggle ON if this resource requires launching the device's native browser (e.g. Safari or Chrome).
Show Unpublished: Keep the app draft hidden from the public mobile app until your launch date.
Audience Access: Choose whether the app is public to All Users or restricted to specific authenticated roles or user lists.
Click Save to add the application.
