Requirements for Joining
The conversation must be designated as Public at creation
Public conversations can be seen by anyone, even if they are not invited
Some conversations may require approval to join based on settings
Anyone can join or attempt to join public conversations
In the Dashboard (Teachers and Administrators)
Steps to Join:
Be sure you are in the Conversations feature in the Dashboard
Navigate by clicking Conversations tile > My Conversations, or click My Conversations in left-hand menu
When a conversation is set to public, it's available for any user to join
* Selecting the Public Check box when creating a new conversation, will set the conversation to public.
To join the conversation, click the Join button at the top of the screen
Search for the conversation and click (+) Join
You will be asked to confirm your choice
You will then be part of the Conversation
In the App (Teachers, Administrators, and Students)
Steps to Join:
Navigate to the Conversations icon in the App
Click the Plus (+) button

Click Join Conversation
The list of available conversations will appear
Click the Plus (+) button next to the one you want to join
If approval is required:
A pop-up will appear
Click Send Request
The administrator of the conversation will have to approve your request
If no approval is required:
You will be confirmed immediately and can start sending messages in that Conversation
Note: Some conversations require approval to join. If the conversation requires approval, you must wait for the conversation administrator to approve your request before you can participate.
