Create News
Create News is only available to users given access to this feature. Usually, only administrators have the ability to post news to the app's main newsfeed.
1. Log into your Dashboard. Navigate to "Create News" you can do this using the icon menu or by opening the hamburger menu at the top left then navigating to "Create News"

2. What?
Compose Message
Title- Add the title of your News.
Text- Add your text to the text box. Optional: Use the toolbar above the text box to add an image, add a link, customize font, alignment, and more.
"Save as Draft" to continue working on this post in the future or select "Continue" to move to the next step.
Attach or Link Content to Message- Optional: Select the Add button to view additional options, such as Video Upload, File Attachments, Location, Contacts, and more.
3. How?
Select Channels
During this step, you will choose where you want your news to be visible and if you would like to send a push notification to your users.
Most commonly, the "App - Push Notifications" and "App - Newsfeed" boxes will be checked. Click "Continue" to move to move to the next step.
Optional: If you select a channel that you do not currently have set up, you will be prompted to set up the channel before having the ability to post to it.
4. Who?
Categories- Choose the categories to reach your targeted audience. All Users is the default selection, however, you can narrow this down to schools and categories if applicable.
Categories (i.e. announcements) will only be available if these have been set up. Categories are not required but can help with organizing your newsfeed.
Secured Access- This option is only available with our Secured Access package. Here you can choose the role to which your news will be visible. If you have classrooms set up (optional) you will see these listed here as well.
Once you have selected your categories, select "Continue".
5. When?
a. Preview-
Pin this item- Use this option to pin your news to the top of the newsfeed. You have the option to select a time in which you would like this to automatically unpin.
Schedule for later- This option allows you to schedule your post to be sent on a specified day/time.
Limit Visibility- Choose a day/time that you would like to hide this news post from viewers.
Hide timestamp- This option allows you to hide the timestamp on the article in the newsfeed.
Repeating- This feature gives you a detailed customizable option to set your news to repeat on specified days/times for future posts.
b. Selected Channels- Review your selections for channels and categories.
c. Select "Send" when you are comfortable with your News post.
6. You will see a confirmation page with check marks on the successful tasks. You can now visit Features > App Newsfeed to see or edit your news post.
